We have decided to put our 1973 Midship 25 for sale. Our family is growing and we would like to move up to a bigger boat.
The boat is currently in a slip at Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho. I rebuilt the trailer with two brand new axles, 4 brand new hubs, a new hydraulic surge actuator and brake lines just this summer. The boat also has two new batteries this summer, one starting and one house. Our midship has wheel steering with autopilot, a Main sail with two reef points, a spare main, a 150 Genoa, a 100 Jib, a staysail, and a spinnaker. There is also a shortened Main sail and shortened boom for use as a ketch rig, I think it might have been a ketch at some point. I do not have the ketch mast or the sail. It has a Vire 7 inboard single cylinder 2-stroke gas engine, and I have a spare engine in unknown condition, it came with the boat when I bought it. It has a brand new porta-potty, a fairly new, lightly used 2 burner alcohol/electric stove, inboard fuel tank (I think it is about 12 gallon), inboard freshwater tank (I think 10 gallon), electric pump for sink faucet and manual pump for secondary faucet (it pumps lake water when you pump it by hand. It has an electric bilge pump with float switch. We made two new cockpit cushions with sunbrella fabric for the V-berth but havent gotten around to making cushions for the other berths. We will include the foam and fabric to complete them. The boat will come with the brand new VHF radio I just bought this summer also. The engine is running well, I just replaced the magneto, point and condenser this summer.
The boat needs some TLC and a few projects finished. Some of the interior fiberglass has been cut out. I had planned on making wood cabinets to fit these areas but never finished them. The doors to both cabins need to be rebuilt, they are in bad condition. The electrical needs to be redone, I had planned on relocating the electrical out of the bilge to try and keep it from being in a damp area. The electrical components are pretty corroded and should be replaced. I just put in two brand new LED bulbs in the tri-color and all around white masthead lights. They are not wired to work currently however. The bottom paint is oxidizing badly, it rubs off on your hand if you touch it. I am not sure if the paint was applied correctly or if it just needs to be repainted. The sails are original as far as I can tell, they are a bit stretched and have some patches. They are functional, just worn. The knotmeter is not functioning, the impeller for it is broken. The bow pulpit is bent up a bit. The lifelines are worn and stretched out. It needs new cockpit cushions.
Its a great sailing boat, like I said we have sailed it the last 5 summers as it is. I had big plans to finish this project but life happens and we are now wanting to get a larger boat to accommodate our 2 kids and large dog. If you are seriously interested I can email some pictures or answer some questions I may have missed. Email me at davesmart (at) hotmail (dot) com. If you are local and interested in our seasonal slip it is available with the boat. It is at the bitterend Marina at Bayview, a great sailing marina with awesome facilities, and a long waiting list for a slip.

The boat is still for sale, I would love to find a Parker Dawson fan to take it away so I know it will be loved as much as we have loved it!

I love your boat. However, I just bought #63. Do you want to get rid of a mainsail by chance?
