Hello Folks.
Does anyone know about what the Parker-Dawson wieghs? I am curious as related to towing on the road. I am guessing about 4000 pounds but would like a more accurate figure if anyone has ever weighed theirs. Thanks.

In the brochures here there a conflicting figures varying from 4400 to 4800 lbs. Then you start adding equipment, fuel, water plus the trailer (easily 1000 lbs). Also remember that your towing capacity on your vehicle is for an empty vehicle with a driver only.
I have a Ford E350 van with a V10. With its gearing I can tow 8500 lbs. So far, I haven't towed my boat more than 100 miles. When I am towing I hardly know the boat is there.
I have heard of others towing with much smaller engines. I just wanted to be able to cross the Rockies and deserts with no problems. Heading to the Chesapeake this summer.
25 more days till sailing season!!!!!

Bob,
Thanks for the reply. I will be picking up my boat toward the end of the month. I plan on stopping by a scale and weighing it on the way back home. But your information kind of confirms what I thought. Thanks again and enjoy the sailing.

So, have you weighed it yet? What did it turn out to weigh? What are you towing it with?
The P-D I'm getting has a fixed fin keel, surveyor said it weighs 5300 lbs, and that's without the engine, etc,(I'm getting a good deal on it).

I am curious regarding your full keel dawson. Does it come with a trailer? What does it draw?
I wish you the best with it!
