i have a 1973 midship that i am working on and plan to sail someday. she has hydraulic wheel steering. seems to work o.k. i am wondering what a person would do if you lost steering because of a cable failure or in my case a failure to the hydraulic system.i am a newby to this website.i am also wondering if the midship is a tender boat with only 1000# keel. i recently spent a couple of nights aboard a catalina 25 and really wanted to go onshore a couple of times.i had to swim to shore. seems like the midship would be a good boat to overnight on. her name is hungry eye from maryland. does anyone know of any history about this boat? hull #103. i sail a lake in tennessee in about 5 to 15 knots of wind most of the time.thanks.
