I am in need of a new mainsail as mine is worn and has no reef points.  I have to reef using the roller furling boom, which I find to be unworkable, especially in big winds.

CDI just came out with a behind the mast mainsail furler.  This would allow me to reef easily and eliminate the need for a mainsail cover and would save on the cost of the mainsail.  They list for $1800 but can be had on Ebay for $1400.   I am in the process of making a cockpit enclosure and would love the ability to reef while it is all buttoned up.

Any opinions?
