Here's my Nav Station set-up, VHF radio, AM/FM CD player, fathometer, Clock, tempature/humidity display, (the barometer is missing from the Stbd side). the toggle switch to port is auto/off/manual illuminated bilge pump switch, the cubby hole is for navagation instruments
Plus lap top with SeaClear II navagation software installed and Garmin Etrex GPS interface. I just saw in an old Cruising World Mag the dinette table cut out and a laptop recessed to keep it in place and the cut out hinged to cover everthing up.
Everything is visible from the helm.
Below to starboard are 2 12v DC panels (9 circuts) with volt meter and 12v DC jack that I have instaled to handle system requirements, behind the panels, mounted on the liner are plus & minus bus bars.
The teak the holds the chart lamp is the raceway for the wiring.
In the last 2 weeks I have bid, unsuccessfuly, on marine radar units that have gone for under $1000.00, I'll keep trying.
