Word is....Someone recently had a BETA 13HP Diesel Engine installed in a Parker Dawson.  Apparently done near Norfolk, Virginia.
Was this someone on this list and who would be willing to share the story ??  Please ??

Found the Boatyard that did the Beta installation.  Difficult, but typical of such projects according to them.  Had to be creative in routing the exhaust, but got a nice arrangement.
All was sounding good until he told me that they had to raise the cockpit sole 4 inches.  
Looks like Steve Johnson was correct when he avoided the Beta.
The boatyard may eventually send photos of what the installation looks like.

Steve,
I looked at:
Yanmar, Vetus (mitsubishi), Phasor, Beta, Westerbeke (12hp) and Bukh (10 saildrive which was discontinued).
The Universal had the lowest overall height.
