That is beautiful work, Herby. I have been trying to determine the best way to store food, booze and dishes in my boat. You have created an attractive and elegant solution.
I notice that the wine area is wood on the outside and white on the inside. What is is made of?
Also, my starboard area where you have your storage has a big locker under it. Does the storage area you created extend to the depth of that locker? The previous owner of my boat removed the water tank, so that may have filled up that locker in my boat originally.

The material is 1/4 ply from a big box store, (Lowes) I can't remember if it was Birch or maple, stained to match the teak and varnished. The interior is gloss enamel, under the bottles is a piece of 1/2 Styrofoam to absorb any shock. There is also foot room under the cabnet and its supported by 3/4 X 3/4 wood cleats fastened to the under side of the table and cleats on the hull liner, also screws from the cabnet into the teak block on the mast compression tube.
the "pantry" is only 12" deep but hold all of my pots and pans plus caned good on the shelf, on the aft cabin side I made a bulkhead Ala the port side, this also makes the aft cabin totally private, the area is accessable from a Bomar hatch I installed on the cockpit seat.
I removed my water tank to sterilize it and install new plumbing, it was a b---h getting it back in but worth the effort.
Theres a marine surplus store in Daytona Beach that I frequent that has hundreds of new and used water and gas tanks, the size in our boats run about $40 to $60. If you are considering putting a tank they may ship it to. I'll dig up the phone# if you like.

I forgot to mention, the water tank sits on the hull bottom and goes in through the wooden hatch,

Herby,
Thanks very much for the photo, that helps me understand the configuration of your PD. I have an early model Midship, hull #38. In my boat there is no hatch under the starboard cockpit seat. In the main cabin on the starboard side aft of the table there is a space that can be used as a berth. There is a partition in the middle of the space under the starboard seat that separates that berth from the starboard aft cabin berth. There are a couple of large storage lockers under this area. I do not know where the water tank used to be, the manual says it was on the starboard side beside the keel trunk.
I like the design of your boat better, because I see little use for that area as another berth and it tends to be used as storage anyway. You have given me some ideas about rearranging my boat.
Next step is to determine where the water tank should go....

I really like the cockpit hatch on this seat. i think it would very useful, especially for sail storage. Can you give us the brand and cost/effort involved?
My wife and I use the quarter berth with the table down. Makes for very comfortable sleeping quarters with 2 kids in the aft cabin.

The hatch is a 12X30 Bomar which I found at a surplus marine store, The Sailoes Exchange, in St Augustine, it was $40.00. A comparable hatch in the West Marine catalog is $114.99. We also purchased all of our Sunbrella canvas there @$7.00 a 50" wide yard, retails for $21.00 a yard the installation is fairly stright foward, make a paper template, layout and cut with a saber saw, total time should not exceed more than an hour and a half, I use Ace hardware window & door caulk as opposed to silacon or the other high priced stuff with excellent results. Good luck
