I am looking to purchase a dawson 26.  She
Looks good however i noticed a crack extending from
The box-like recess that houses the keel.
It is about 3 inches going forward....is this a no go in
your opinion, or do you feel the structral
ontegrity is such that a repair can occur?
Hopefully soon to be owner

Get a survey, well worth the money.

If the keel cable let loose and the 1100 lb keel swung down hard this might have been the cause.  Hard to say about repairs.
