Anyone have any pics or can tell me how the pole that you use to raise the main mast is / works.

To raise the mast.  Fasten the base of the mast to the hinge plate on the deck.  Fasten forestay, outer side stays and inner fore side stays.  Connect boom to the mast with the gooseneck.  Attach topping lift to mast.  You should have a stablizing wire that connects about midway down the bottom of the boom and to the two wood blocks on either side of the deck.  Use the main sheet to pull the mast up.  I usually do this by myself.  I have to raise and lower it everytime I go out, have a low bridge to clear.  I may have pictures if you want to forward your email addy.

I have a 1983 owners manual with pics and drawings of this stuff.  All have to do is find it.  In another month or two, I will be really into this stuff and be able to answer more questions with photos and stuff.  I keep my boat near Traverse City Michigan, Lake Michigan.
