I recently acquired a PD 26, hull number 277. While in harbor I raised the 1100 # keel to the "full up" position to check how many turns of the keel crank were required to raise the keel to the "full up" position. Unfortunantly when I now try to lower the keel my crank cable goes slack. If the keel doesn't lower during sailing I plan to trailer the hull and determine if the keel is caught on the housing lip. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, what was the solution?

My cable goes a littl slack when the most the cable is let out. Is your starting to go slack as soon as you start to let it down?

Not sure how nice or warm the water is there but u can always dive in and check it Smiley

Also I am not sure if the pin locks it up and if you have it in or not by might want to check that?
