I am putting the hardware back on my Midship after painting the deck.  I have these two cleats that I cannot determine the location of.  Attached is a picture of the same kind of cleat.  The ones I have are chromed but the shape is the same.  The cleat base has an extension on one side but not on the other.

In the process of repairing and fairing the deck, numerous screw holes have been covered up.  I cannot find any mating holes for this hardware and cannot remember seeing it on the deck.

Please let me know if you recognize these pieces.  Thanks.

Sometimes call Jamb Cleats.  These would seem to be the cleats used with the jib sheet winches.

However, it seems that there is more than one configuration for the jib leads.

My standard lead is through the bullseye fairlead on a short track  forward of the winch.  With larger headsails, there will be a block after of the winch, that turns the line to the winch.

Some of the literature shows the jib sheet lead coming to the combing? forward of the winch.

I hope to go to the boat today and will measure and photo if it will help.

Steve,
I have tracks forward of the winch and aft of the winch.  I generally use the tracks aft of the winch because the boat has a roller furled 150% genoa that I usually use unfurled.  Directly aft of the winch I have a cam cleat mounted on a teak pad that is about 2 inches high.

A measurement and photo would be a great help.  I bet the painters covered up the mounting holes.  I am also going to look at the underside of the combing to see if I can spot the holes.  Is this cleat aft or forward of the winch?

Thanks much,

John

Aft of the winch about a full handspan for me.  that would be about 9 inches.
